To make futsal part of our culture in Durham by providing under-served communities, clubs, and schools with athlete-centered, affordable, and accessible futsal and soccer programming. To expose our participants to resources that invest in their holistic development, and make those resources more accessible to their families.
Raise money through fundraising events, partner with community organizations, host free training programs and resource fairs throughout the year.
Jose Santibanez grew up in Durham and has deep roots in the community. He attended school in Durham throughout his youth and played soccer for the Durham/Chapel Hill Strikers (Later TUSA). Jose has coached youth soccer for the last 14 years at the Recreational, Middle School, High School, and Club level. He is a licensed soccer coach through U.S. Youth Soccer and the United States Soccer Federation. Jose is a certified futsal coach through United Soccer Coaches/NSCAA, U.S. Futsal, and through U.S.Youth Futsal, which courses are lead by FIFA Futsal Instructor and former U.S. National Team Coach, Keith Tozer.
Jackie Carroll-Garcia graduated with a BS Degree in Public Health from North Carolina Central University. She retired from the City of Durham as a Laboratory Analyst of water and wastewater. Jackie has worked in the Durham Public Schools system as a math remediation specialist, substitute teacher K-12, after-school leader, and a volunteer one-on-one reading tutor.
Itzel Castro is a Durham, NC native currently attendng The University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She believes investing into minority youth will give them the support and confidence they need to work towards their dreams and become successful. She is an Administrative Assistant at Helius, a non-profit that provides training and coaching for small businesses and necessity-driven entrepreneurs.
